Species found on birds nesting in rocks, including the falcons Falco
rusticolus and Falco tinnunculus, the swift Apus pacificus, the
thrush Myophonus caeruleus, redstarts, and others. Males have not been
described.

Adult ticks mainly parasitize the squirrels Funisciurus anerythrus,

are also reported to be present in Ukraine (Crimea).
Specific parasite of birds, mainly Passeriformes. All stages have been
described. In Panama it was found on the tinamou.

All stages are found on birds nesting in rocks, such as swifts, pigeons,
ravens, crows, peregrine falcons, and others.

(Transvaal).
Adult ticks mainly parasitize Artiodactyla ungulates, both wild and
domestic. These ticks are rarely found on carnivores, monkeys, or hares. Larvae
have been reared in the laboratory. Nymphs have not been described.

Females were found on rats, wild cats, a mongoose, and a monkey.
Immature ticks parasitize rodents and insectivores. A high intensity of
infestation is reported for the shrew Suncus murinus.
